Big And Bold Cosmos Flower Head

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well. I have been busy creating some new designs.
One of my favourite flowers in the summer months is the Cosmos flower – every year I make sure to plant some seeds in my garden which feature these pretty flowers. I’ve drawn this cosmos flower head in a bolder style than I usually do – but I love all the detail I’ve managed to capture with this flower.
With it being a single flower it is very versatile – as you will see from the card samples below, you can layer it, cut it or just leave it just as a whole.

Card Sample from Mowbray Designs;

Mowbray Designs has created this beautiful, eye catching card. Using a shaped card – she has then die cut a frame & placed an colourful inked background behind this. Using the Cosmos Digi Stamp Tracey has printed it off multiple times – shading the flower in using gossip pens (which give them a real vibrant colour). She has then layered up the cosmos flower heads & off set each layer to give them height and depth. Finishing off with a sentiment and a contrasting bow. So lovely!

Twinkle Lane Designs Card Samples

For our first sample I printed off the Cosmos Flower twice & shaded them in with promarkers in lilac/purples (Lavender, Amethyst, Aubergine) & then to make the colours pop I’ve gone over the shading with coloured pencils & used a white pen to put in some hightlights. Using lilac and silver card for matt and layering, then used a white piece of embossed card for the background. I’ve cut both of the flowers in half & used foam pads and placed them on each side of the card to create a frame. I’ve placed the sentiment in the in the centre & finished the card off with white pearls.

For this card I’ve made a landscape A5 card. Mixing contrasting coloured cards – dark pink, pale pink and silver mirror. I’ve stamped around the edge of the dark pink card with a leaf stamp. The background card I created using winsor and newton inks with water & splashing them on. Again i’ve shaded the flower head in with promarkers and coloured pencils – then added glitter to make it sparkle. To finish off I’ve stamped a sentiment onto a strip of velum & stuck this in the centre.
